Celebrating 20 Years of Ministry—and Making Room for Who Comes Next For 20 years, GOYA Ministries has watched God work through a simple partnership: Kenyan leaders faithfully serving children and families, and people like you choosing to come alongside them. As we celebrate our 20th year of ministry and 12th Annual Banquet, we aren't simply looking back at what God has done. We're making room for more. This year, our goal is to raise $137,757 for two projects that will allow us to welcome more children into our programs—and give them greater opportunities once they're there. MORE ROOM TO LEARN In the heart of South B slum, a rare opportunity to expand our largest primary school is already becoming a reality. New classrooms, a multipurpose hall, expanded dining and administrative areas, and additional facilities will allow our Kenyan team to serve even more children. More space means more children receiving an education, nutritious meals, discipleship, safety, and the consistent care of adults who believe in their future. MORE ROOM TO DREAM A second school bus will help take those opportunities beyond our school gates. Our students are increasingly participating in sports, choir, dance, academic competitions, and events throughout Kenya. For children growing up in vulnerable circumstances, these experiences can expand their understanding of what is possible. Sometimes helping a child dream bigger begins by simply allowing them to see more. HELP US MAKE ROOM FOR MORE For 20 years, our Kenyan partners have done the daily work of teaching, mentoring, feeding, coaching, discipling, and caring for children. We have the privilege of coming alongside them. This anniversary, help us create more room to learn, more opportunities to discover God-given talents, and more experiences that encourage children to imagine a future beyond their circumstances. Our goal: $137,757. After 20 years, what better way to celebrate all God has done than by making room for what He will do next.

Planting seeds today. Building stronger communities for tomorrow. At GOYA Ministries, we believe lasting change begins when communities have the resources to provide for themselves. Through our agricultural initiatives in Kenya, we're investing in sustainable solutions that improve access to clean water, strengthen food production, protect valuable resources, and create healthier environments for the children and families we serve. Our agriculture team has identified six important projects in Magadi and Ngong that will help our schools and surrounding communities become more self-sufficient. With your partnership, we can turn these opportunities into lasting improvements that will benefit generations to come. Our Projects & Funding Needs 1. Expanding Water Access in Magadi — $15,500 Water is essential to everything we grow! By expanding our existing water reservoir in Magadi, we hope to provide a more dependable, year-round water supply for our crops and children. This investment will help reduce the impact of seasonal droughts and strengthen our ability to grow food locally. 2. Protecting Livestock in Ngong — $3,000 Healthy animals help sustain healthy communities! We plan to install a livestock handling gate and disease-control spraying system to protect our cattle and goats from ticks, parasites, and other disease-carrying pests. This will help improve animal health, reduce preventable losses, and strengthen our agricultural programs. 3. Cleaner Water for the Magadi Community — $2,500 Access to clean water is essential for healthy families. We hope to construct a concrete filtration system using sand and charcoal to improve the quality of water available to the Magadi community. With appropriate testing and treatment, this system could become an important step toward providing safer, more reliable water. 4. Strengthening Our Dairy Program — $2,400 We're investing in a healthier, more resilient dairy program by purchasing a cow better suited to the challenging climate and drought conditions in Kenya. This addition will help strengthen our milk production and provide a valuable source of nutrition for our students. 5. Safe & Sanitary Housing for Farm Workers and Cooks — Funding Goal Coming Soon Behind every successful farm and school meal is a dedicated team! Our largest proposed project will provide safe, sanitary housing for the farmers and cooks who work tirelessly to support our students and agricultural programs. By improving their living conditions, we're investing in the people who make these sustainable initiatives possible. 6. Protecting Our High School Gardens — $7,200 Our gardens in Ngong are producing valuable food, but local baboons have discovered the buffet! We're raising funds to strengthen our high school's perimeter fencing with protective barriers, including razor wire where appropriate and safely installed, to keep wildlife from destroying crops. Protecting our harvest means preserving food, resources, and the hard work of our students and farmers. Our Fundraising Goal: $30,600 + Housing Construction Our current funding goal is $30,600 for five essential projects, with the final goal increasing once construction estimates for our farm worker and cook housing are complete. Each project addresses a real need, but together they represent something much greater: a commitment to building sustainable systems that help our ministry and the communities we serve thrive. Our school is growing! Our student body has more than doubled in the last couple of years and we are busting at the seams! This is such a great problem to have as it means that we are reaching more and more children with the gospel as well as providing nutritious meals, spiritual development, solid education and many extra curricular activities! Our school ranking is increasing as well which means that our students are being invited to sports tournaments and choir/dance competitions. An extra bus will offer us the ability to transport students to various parts around the county in order to compete. The bus can also be used to take staff and team members to and from our various rural school locations. 

In November 2025, a devastating fire swept through the South B slum in Nairobi, destroying hundreds of homes and businesses and forever changing the lives of countless families. The fire reached the grounds surrounding REM South B School and caused significant damage to our facilities. By God's grace, however, the main school structure remained standing. As our community worked together to recover and rebuild, an unexpected opportunity emerged. Land adjacent to the school became available, creating a rare chance to expand our campus and serve even more children in one of Nairobi's most vulnerable communities. What began as a tragedy has opened the door to hope. For years, REM South B has provided education, stability, discipleship, and opportunity to children living in difficult circumstances. With additional classrooms and expanded facilities, we can welcome more students, reduce overcrowding, and continue investing in the next generation of leaders. The Expansion The new addition will transform REM South B from a school that is stretched beyond capacity into a campus equipped to meet the growing needs of the community. The expansion includes: Three new classrooms to serve additional students. A large multi-purpose hall and stage for school assemblies, church services, community gatherings, and student programs. Expanded office and administrative space. Additional restroom facilities and improved circulation throughout the building. A larger dining area to serve students more efficiently. Additional storage and support spaces to better serve the school community. This expansion represents more than bricks and concrete. It means: More children receiving a quality education. More students hearing the Gospel. More families experiencing hope and opportunity. A stronger and more resilient South B community. Building in Faith Construction is already underway. One of the beautiful realities of ministry partnerships in Kenya is the trust that has been built over many years of serving faithfully together. Local builders have agreed to begin work before all of the funds have been raised, trusting our reputation and commitment to fulfill our obligations as support comes in. Their faith in this mission has allowed progress to begin immediately rather than waiting months or years for funding to be secured. Now we have the opportunity to stand alongside them and finish what has already begun! Our Goal The total cost to complete the South B expansion is $57,757 USD. Every dollar given moves this project closer to completion and creates space for future generations of students to learn, grow, and thrive. The fire may have changed the landscape of the neighborhood, but it did not destroy the vision. Together, we can help South B rise stronger than before.
