Magadi Girl's Rescue Center

Place Magadi Primary School

Magadi is a remote area where indigenous tribal people known as the Massai tribes reside. Massai tribes people are a beautiful community that adhere to generational traditions and methods for survival in some of the harshest climates. Their beadwork, goat and cattle raising, dance, and more are unique and have been protected from the outside world for generations. It is a beautiful, protected culture. Unfortunately, there are several traditions that are abusive as well. Many of the Massai are learning that these practices are wrong and are choosing to drop these practices, but others still adhere to the old traditions. Our ministry seeks to provide a safe haven for girls that are ready to leave those traditions behind and escape some of the groups that still adhere to these practices. Each sponsorship share provides a bed and regular meals as well as a few practical needs for them to live together in our rescue shelter.
